This is simply an example of an evening with the Gestours, as the stories and music can be individually tailored to suit your venue or theme, involving tales of local interest or legend.
All we require is a small area to work from where we stand our instruments and displays. This area will ideally have visual contact with all of the audience. From here we will talk and play, sometimes to the entire assembly, sometimes moving out amongst the tables performing for individual groups co-ordinating with the serving of the food.

As the performance is offered acoustically we ask for the audiences’ attention for the stories and poems. They are then free to chat and make merry as they dine to background music. Each part of the performance is limited to ten minutes maximum and tailored to the courses of the meal. This gives a varied blend of performance, music and conversations amongst friends, adding up to a very special, very different evening.

Gestours is a collaboration between Geoff Harris of bZents and James Joyce of Exilemusic. Geoff, who specialises in storytelling, theatre work, ghost walks and toastmastering, has worked professionally since 1982 for clients as diverse as English Heritage, Centre Parcs, schools and many hotels. Themes he offers included Robin Hood, Ghostly Halloween, Medieval legend, Queen Bess and the Tudors, to name but a few.
James, who has been a professional musician for over twenty years, specialises in the folk and traditional music of Ireland, Scotland and England. He sings and plays the flute, mandolin, whistles and guitar. He is also a declaimer of poetry, using work from poets such as Thomas Hardy and John Donne.
